Stockton, CA, October 21, 2011 –A blessing of the ground and a turn of the dirt took place in Stockton to recognize the construction of a new specialty building for St. Joseph’s Medical Group of Stockton, a service of CHW Medical Foundation.
The 10,000-square-foot state-of-the-art building will have room for up to eight physician specialists and their staff. “This project is very good for the Stockton community in a time when there are few new construction projects underway,” said Jag Gill ScD, FACHE, FACMPE, President and CEO of CHW Medical Foundation. “It is also beneficial to St. Joseph’s Medical Group and our patients to have our specialists working and collaborating together in one place.”
There are currently four specialists with St. Joseph’s Medical Group practicing in three different locations. Those specialty doctors include: colorectal surgeons Peter Tuxen, MD and Robert Yavrouian, MD, urologist Wei Zheng, MD and general surgeon, Rick Rawson, MD. “Dr. Yavrouian and I are looking forward to working under one roof with the other doctors,” said Peter Tuxen, MD. “Our convenient location across the street from St. Joseph’s Medical Center allows the doctors to spend quality time with patients in both the hospital and the clinic.”
CHW Medical Foundation is investing more than 4-millilon dollars in this project. The specialty building is scheduled to open in summer, 2012.
St. Joseph’s Medical Group of Stockton was founded in 2006 and continues to grow to meet the continuing healthcare needs of the community. The practice is comprised of eight family practice physicians, one nurse practitioner, six hospitalists and four specialists.
